From 2011 to 2012
The last few years have been a roller coaster…
2011 was a blur… mostly focused on one thing.
Oh, and I joined a new startup, Simpli.fi.
Outside of that, I spent a lot of time with great friends, met a lot of new ones, built some stuff with my Makerbot, built some legos, moved, saw my little brother get married, started reading the A Song of Fire and Ice series, continued my relationship with my Little, and finished paying off my car.
And what’s in store for 2012?
Well… our baby’s due date was December 29th… but that day has past and it looks like we’ll be ringing in the new year with a new child! As of right now, that’s all I can focus on.
Resolutions for 2012?
Uhh being a good father? Making sure our child (check hazbaby.com) arrives healthy and stays healthy…
Keep focus on my career and hobbies as well. I have to stay grounded, but of course my priorities will shift and reorganize.
I plan on staying with startups (it’s addicting), keeping active in the startup community, learning more about languages and hardware, build more legos, read more books, and plan more interesting moments for my family…
Boring post, I know, but seriously… all I have been thinking about lately is scaling startups and having this baby!
Hello 2011
2010…
You lied to me. You stole from me. You hurt my dogs. You took my first chance at being a father away.
But…
You gave me a good tax return. You sent me to a foreign country. You pushed my wife through grad school. You made my first startup experience prosperous. You gave me a brother-in-lawm and a future sister-in-law. You gave me lots of opportunities to see our families…
And most importantly… You kept me and my family alive and well.
Welcome 2011… You’ve got some big shoes to fill. Let’s try hard not to make it such a roller coaster, eh?
I’ll try to read more, love more, give more, receive better, move faster, forgive easier, and change.
Goodbye 2009
What a year!
It started out with a bang… we adopted our second pup, Bentley the Regal Beagle…
Did lots of planning for a large event, which took place on July 11, 2009. I married the love of my life, Becca Anne.
Learned a lot about cooking…
Sold all of my DVD’s… got rid of them while people still believe in physical media :)
Launched version 2.0 of the drop.io API…
Got my first passport!
Started to become more giving with my resources… donating lots of clothes, food, and money… enabling entrepreneurs in underdeveloped countries… and joining Big Brothers Big Sisters…
Enough about the stuff from this year, which I would say is pretty damn successful…
What’s to come for 2010?
- Lots of travel! We already have 5 trips planned (3 weddings and 2 vacations)…
- Keep up my reading pace/increase my reading pace.
- More cooking classes and training for me… I got some books as gifts that will help with my bases…
- Attempting to be even more philanthropic this year…
- Execute on ideas and get rid of my addiction to brain crack…
- drop.io makes me rich and famous :)
- Explore other realms of knowledge… expand my software skills into other sciences/schools of thought…
- Work on my memory and attention spans…
And last but not least…
- Work on improving my husband card and more than likely becoming a father…
